Connect Brandbook to Claude with MCP

Give Claude Code or Claude Desktop your brand with one key.

MCP lets an AI tool call other tools. With Brandbook connected, Claude can read your brand, check its own drafts and add rules, without you pasting anything.

Claude Code

terminal
claude mcp add --transport http brandbook https://brandbook.app/api/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer bb_live_…"

Claude Desktop

Claude Desktop adds remote servers as connectors that sign in with OAuth, which Brandbook doesn’t offer yet. Until then, use the mcp-remote bridge in claude_desktop_config.json. It needs Node installed.

claude_desktop_config.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "brandbook": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://brandbook.app/api/mcp", "--header", "Authorization:${BRANDBOOK_AUTH}"],
      "env": { "BRANDBOOK_AUTH": "Bearer bb_live_…" }
    }
  }
}
Claude.ai’s custom connectors can’t use a static key yet. In a Claude.ai project, add your brand.md as a file instead.
