Canva is a design editor. Brandbook is the brand book, library and checker that sits behind every editor you use.

Beyond one app

A Brand Kit governs Canva designs. Brandbook’s rules reach Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Figma and Canva.

Questions.

Do I still need Canva?

Probably, yes. Canva is a great design editor and Brandbook isn’t trying to replace it. Brandbook replaces the PDF guidelines and scattered brand folders, and gives Canva something reliable to follow.

Does Brandbook replace our Canva Brand Kit?

As the source of truth, yes. The Brand Kit can stay for convenience inside Canva, while Brandbook holds the full rules, voice and approved assets for every other tool too.

Can Brandbook check designs made in Canva?

Yes. Check them through the plugin before you export, or drop the finished file into Check. You get On-brand, Needs a look or Off-brand, with the reason.
